Transgender minister is reappointed

Amazing how hypocritical and yet by-the-book we methodists are. Without clear provocation from the Discipline (2004) the judicial committee upheld the right of pastors to deny membership to openly homosexual people. Yet, as this story shows, the related gender topic of trans-gender clergy, is condoned by the bishop’s appointment. Are we or are we not against unconventional embodiments of gender? Granted theses cases took place in two separate conferences, but I think this is but a foretaste of the devise split coming at the next quadralinium.
