i think i saw a commercial a while back where some cell phone company was advertising number-portability and some woman was saying she had that number and (therefore) wanted to keep it.
i saw it on tv, so it must be true
(though, in retrospect, I don’t know *why* she would want it…. ….seeing as the song’s about a guy who finds the number on a wall in a public restroom with ‘for a good time call…’)
