Imagine: No DRM!

In response to this post by his Steveness in which he promises to sell DRM-free music in the Itunes store, someone chose to rewrite / parody John Lennon’s famous “Imagine.”

You can snag the mp3 here: http://ns-ae.net/downloads/audio/imagine_no_drm.mp3 presumably under a creative commons license.

Lyrics:

Imagine there’s no DRM
It’s easy if you try
No restrictions on the files
that you or I can by

Imagine all the downloads
playing anywhere

Imagine there’s no cartels
like the RIAA
nothing to sue or be sued for
creative commons all the way

Imagine all the downloads
Playing anywhere. (oooo)

You may say I’m a pirate
But I’m not the only one
Execs like Steve Jobs understand this
The god we fight can still be one (eh? not sure about this line. mp3 fuzzy)

Imagine no more hardware lockin
I wonder if you could
No need for player key decryption
your files are yours for good

Imagine all the devices
Playing all the files

You may say I’m a pirate
But I’m not the only one
The labels might yet understand this
The god we fight can still be won (eh? not sure about this line. mp3 fuzzy)
