I’m a fan of music and an even bigger fan of mixes. I found this piece of software linked in from lifehacker. It scans your iTunes database, and makes darn good mixes based off of a “seed†of songs you’ve chosen. It uses “audio DNA†to select thematic or acoustically similar songs. I’ve used it to scan and make up 3 mixes that I’ve been very pleased with. I commend it too you.
I’ve also been beta testing Disco. As a burning app it’s unparalleled in looks. The smoke rising from the top of the burn window is simply beautiful. However beautiful it may be, it is still no comparison to Toast. There are simply to many features missing. For instance, Disco, as of the beta I’m using, cannot burn an .iso image to a disk. Sure it can burn the file to the disk, but it cannot make a disk from an .iso image. If you’re seeking a more feature-full burning program for OS-X try: Burn. Can’t beat the price.
