I’m a member of that online service where they “match” you with others so that you can be be harmonious in your relationships. They matched me with a woman, we’ll call her “Kat.” We exchanged questions and must have’s and can’t stands and were asking each other the second round of questions when I got this question from her:
“Tonight you can do anything you want, no penalties, no reprisals, and the cost is unimportant. What are you going to do?”
My response you ask?
“In no particular order….
- Order every air force’s active cargo planes all fly relief supplies to africa
- Bankrupt the IMF and World bank by forgiving all outstanding debt in the 2/3rds world.
- Do a hostile take over of all international drug companies and consolidate them into a non-prophit headed up by Bono.
- Force all health insurance companies to cooperate and be kind. Force them to provide free health care for all in the US by forcing them to join in on a unified PPO
- Deport all Christians who are members of mega churches, and or upper class republican Christians to Cambodia’s poorest province.
- Tear down all the mega churches and replace them with hospitals and research institutes headed by Bill Gates’ foundation
- Give my mentors Tenure
- I suspect by now you’re convinced I’m not going to construct a date but… I’d take you to St. Petersburg, Ukraine so that we can visit the hermitage and pick out a couple of paintings for our churches. After which, we’d eat a continental breakfast in New Deli, with the sisters of mercy, after which we’d serve breakfast to the poor and finish our day (or night) by watching the sun rise over the great barrier reef.
Her Response:
“My father works at Willow Creek.”
and later
“I’m concerned about your anti-Christian attitude”
Well, you win some, and you loose some….

Oops? Hehehe.
You have to appreciate how her definition of “anti-Christian” seems to be synonymous to “anti-Megachurch”.

I think it’s interesting that you use the terms “bankrupt”, “hostile”, “force”, “deport”, and “tear down” so that you can enact peace and forgiveness. Sounds a little anti-Jesus to me, too. Sorry to play devil’s advocate.
